Horton, Kas.--Arnold Vedin, 39, Manhattan, Kas., died in a Horton hospital Monday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on U.S. 73,east of Horton Saturday night. Vedin was a construction superintendent for the Mont Green ConstructionCo. of Manhattan. He was in charge of the construction of the NationalGuard armory here. Sheriff David Lanter said Vedin's car struck a bridge railing, the impact throwing the vehicle into the path of an oncoming pickup driven by Frank Jesch of near Everest. Jesch was slightly injured. Vedin is survived by his widow and a daughter. Funeral services and burial will be at Redfield, S.D. ---Atchison Globe Arnold Vedin was the contractor who built St. Joseph's school. The family was living at Manhattan while he was in charge of constructing a building there, as well as one in Horton. | |
